AW - Dzień 7- Ciekawostki o Australii/ DC - Day 7- Fun facts about Australia

Wallaby zawsze spoko na tytułowe :)/ Wallaby is always OK as a main picture!

 Siódmy dzień wyzwania, a ja zaczynam czuć lekkie zmęczenie, ale nie chcę łamać postanowania, dlatego dzisiaj będzie krótki tekst o śmiesznych lub ciekawych rzeczach, które zauważyłam w Australii. Lista jest na pewno o wiele dłuższa, ale to rzeczy, które zanotowałam, bo kilka razy pomyślałam "Ach, to zabawne..."

I am starting feeling exhausted on the 7th day of my challenge but c'mon, I can do it! :) Today's text is shorter though, I tried to put everything funny or curious I noticed in Australia. The list is for sure much longer but these things are something I kept noticing and thinking "Oh, that's funny..."

- Gdy podróżujesz wieczorem drogą, to od razu widzisz, że nie jesteś w Europie. Dlaczego? Cóż, jest ciemno jak oko wykol. Na głównych drogach między miastami nie ma żadnych wiosek - a zauważyłam to przecież w Victorii, stanie, który jest stosunkowo gęsto zaludniony. Wyobraźmy sobie okolice Alice Springs :)
- When you travel at night, you see immidiately that you are not in Europe. Why? Well, it's crazy dark if you travel on the highway from one city to another - there are no small towns or villages. And I noticed it in Victoria, quite densly populated state, can you imagine around Alice Springs? :)

- Reszta jest zaokrąglana. Nie mają monet 1 i 2 centowych, więc jeśli kupujesz 1 albo dwa produkty z .99 to jestes stratny, ale przy trzech to sklep na Tobie traci ;)
- They don't have 1c or 2c coins so everything is rounded - not cool if you buy 1 or 2 products with .99 at the end but cool if you buy 3 or 4 of them :)

-Kiedy mówiłam, że do wypieków potrzebuję czekoladę, to rodzinka mówiła "Tak, mamy" i dawała mi kakao. Wiem, że wbrew wpisowi sprzed dwóch dni możecie myśleć, że Australijczycy są koneserami słodyczy, ale to nieprawda.
- When I was saying that I need chocolate for my recipe, my host family was answering, "sure, we have some" and giving me cocoa powder. They are not a big chocolate and sweet stuff eaters in Aussie (contrary to what you may think after my post from two days ago).

-Głosowanie jest obowiązkowe w Australii. Jeśli zapomni się pójść do wyborów, dostaje się mandat (mój znajomy płacił bodajże 400$). Dobry pomysł w Polsce?
- Voting in the elections is mandatory in Australia. If you forget to vote, you have to pay a fine (I think one of my friend had to pay like 400$). Should we have the same thing in Poland? 

- Dużo ludzi ubiera się bardziej boho i ma kolorowe włosy. Tylu bosych ludzi co w Melbourne, nie widziałam nigdzie indziej :) (w sensie ok.3 w tramwaju w przeciągu 5 miesięcy, ale to i tak była dla mnie nowinka)
- A lot of  Australians like boho clothes and have a fluo color hair. I also saw some bare-foot people in the tramway (like three of them in 5 months but it was still curious!)

- Kiedyś już wspominałam o tablicach rejestracyjnych, ale może powtórzę - w Australii każdy stan ma inny "slogan" i tak Victoria jest "miejscem, w którym warto być", Tasmania "naturalnym stanem" (ładna gra słów), a Queensland "stanem słońca". Slogany często się zmieniają.
- I mentioned it once but why not to repeat - in Australia every state has a different "slogan" on the car plate. Victoria is "the place to be", Tassie "the natural state" and Queensland "the sunshine state". The slogans change quite often.

- W Australii mnóstwo jest wegetarian, wegan, a także osób nietolerujących glutenu. Wybór dań w restauracjach dla tych osób jest ogromny!
- There are a lot of vegetarians, vegans and gluten intolerant people in Australia. Hence, the choice of dishes in the restaurants is huge!
